Sol gel is a methodology in the world of materials. Offers methods for creating glassy solids at room temperature. . During this study  I researched the sol-gel glass and how its unique properties  can be directed to the environment. This study presents the ability to remove  small amounts of heavy metals from effluent and wastewater from municipal and industrial production, which is currently being transferred to irrigate crops.

85% of the crops in Israel are currently irrigated with wastewater..
